What are Your Plans for 2010
Just looking to start a new thread here ... wondering what everyone's "Boat plans" are for 2010 ... are you planning on a new purchase, used purchase, re-vamping your current rig or just keeping things as they are.
Me ... Keeping my current rig as is, but I always have my eyes peeled for a good deal on a 16-17 footer I can use as a "project" ... like I really need more "projects"!!
I only have one season on my Ranger, and I set it up just how I wanted it as soon as I got it. I'll probably be adding an I-Pilot to it this year.
My 18 Tundra is finally all set up the way I like it. I'll probably fish this boat as long as I can still get it in the water myself. Unfortunately due to deaths(my mother and aunt) and illness(mine and my Dad's I got very little "fish time" last year. I caught ONE sauger and a few cigar size eyes. A few bass and that's it. 09 was one tough year and I plan on retiring from teaching and just keeping my Bass Pro Shop gun counter job and have time for plenty of fishing and shooting.
Now if everyone just stays healthy.

I just got a new 2050 Ranger Reata in the fall and got to use it a few times but I cant wait to get it back out on the water this spring!!! COME ON SPRING!!!...LOL!!!!

Not much to do on the Tundra. Probably time to replace the Interstate deep cycles that have served me well in multiple boats since 2004. That's about it there.
Looking for a smaller boat myself. Bought a property in northern Michigan that is surrounded by small lakes holding HUGE bass and pike, but most are accessed by foot trails. No place for a Tundra! LOL Probably going to pick up a little 12 footer we can carry and HOOK IT UP with lots of goodies. I'm sure the accessory package will be worth 3x the boat. LOL
Mostly my boat is rigged as I like it. My plans are for soon to add the Terrova I-Pilot and might look into a kicker but depends on how the Terrrova works out.
Lund 1800 Fisherman. I got the i-pilot for Christmas and plan on just re-rigging some things to be more user friendly. I had hydraulic steering put on and they used way to long a lines. Now my steering lines cross side to side in my transom well area and it bothers me. I'm also currently running a remote Yami T8, really thinking of going to a tiller.
Joe what exactly is it that you are saying?

My goal this year is avoid any reasons, see excuses for not fishing. All I have to do is drain remaining old fuel, refuel, and go fishing.
im only 16 but i just got a new 2009 tracker pro guide v-15 tiller with a 50 hp merc. i am looking to get the fortrex on the front and some type of transom mount trolling motor on the back to. for electronics i am looking at the hds units but not quite sure which models i should get. other than that i am just looking to upgrade some of my tackle, looking at the st croix legend extreme, or the legend tournment rods but im not quite sure yet.
I'm planning on completely redoing my 16 1/2 foot sea nymph. It weighs about 400 pounds more than it should (saturated foam) and isn't set up very well for fishing in rough water, or walleyes. It has more of a bass boat set up even though it has a really agressive deep-v.
Boyder, you are more than welcome to help me on my project if you can't find your own
I don't pay very well, but the PBR would be on me!
New 2010 Tuffy 1890 Osprey on order powered by the best Mercury Outboards, Humminbird electronics
Dave, sorry I just saw your post.
The marine I had install the hydraulic steering used 21ft hyd. hoses. They come into my transom area on the starboard side and cross to port then loop back to my motor. It's not wrong, just not to my liking.
I have to drain the fluid, cut down the lines and install some new fittings. I am really thinking of putting in the new Seastar hydraulic pump, it's pricey though.

My 2010 plans are to continue to learn as much about walleye fishing on Lake Erie and keep taking my Dad with me as long as he's capable of going along. I don't think I'll ever convert him from being a perch fisherman, but he is slowly accepting the job of reeling in big walleyes while watching me net them for him. LOL!!
I really wish I could add a towing package and reverse to my Harley Electraglide. My idea of a perfect day would be to pull my Tundra to the lake with the harley, catch a limit of big walleyes, and ride the harley back home. Wishful thinking I know.
Nice combo Rick!
My rig for this year will be a 2010 Nitro 290 Sport, Mercury 225 Pro XS, Mercury 9.9 Pro Kicker, Motorguide 82# Tour Addition.
I loved my 2009 Nitro 290 Sport and can't wait to get the new one and get it on the water....as soon as the ice is outta here that is.

Got a new 18' Tundra DC FTE last year. So last year was about getting familiar and thanks to some of the guys from this site that helped me understand the livewell layout. Fishing with it last year I found that I really need that 9.9 pro-kicker! So it is sitting in Toledo and whenever the weather breaks I'm gonna make the 3 hour run to do the install.
There are some truly amazing electronics available these days so maybe next year I'll make that upgrade. If I spend what I did on the kicker for electronics I think I can really get the boat decked out!

Picked up a 2004 1995 yar craft tsc about a month ago. It has a 225 opti on back. I am however looking to put a kicker on it so if anyone knows of someone that is looking to sell a new merc 9.9 let me know. I know its pretty uncommon to have a new kicker laying around but occassionally guys win them and look to sell. other than that just looking to fish a few tournaments on bago and possibly Green bay.
Clean up the Alumacraft Tourney Pro 175 and trade it in for a 1850 Reatta.
Hey Justin,
I might be able to get one if you can hold on for a month or so until I find out. PM me if you'd like
2007 tracker targa 175 i love it!!I have the 80# terrova, hds 7 on the console, getting the hds 7 on the bow,and also getting the structure scan this week.I will probally add an optima battery for my starting motor, and ill have my units hooked up to it also.
waiting for my 2010 crestliner raptor TE with "madfish graphics" to arrive. Bought the Terrova with ipilot, 9.9 merc, 2 hds8's, underwater veiw camera and about a dozen new rod& reels. Spring is Glorious!
I am looking to do a couple things to my 200 Hawk this year. I am looking to get the I-Pilot for my Terrova. I am looking to get a 4 stroke kicker. If its in the budget this year I will be upgrading my electronics to side imagining.
WelI I just placed the order for my Ranger Reata 1850 with the 150 yamaha and kicker today. Got a great trade in price for my Alumacraft. Now I can start the fun stuff and start buying rail mounts to hold my existing rod holders, and other stuff I absolutley think I need. Gosh I feel l ike a kid in a candy store?!
Mark,
I am doing the same thing. I loved my 2009 NITRO 290 Sport and I am supposed to get my new 290 Sport by the end of April. Tracker Manager told me it is supposed to be a 2011 model. She's coming with a 200 Verado w/jackplate and I am adding a Terrova w/I-Pilot and 2 HDS-7's w/LSS-1 and LWX-1 Sirius Weather module. Can't wait to try her out.

2010 will be my third year with my Pro Guide V17 SC and I've made (purchased, haven't installed yet) a few changes. Last year I swapped the factory 42# PowerDrive V2 for a 55# PowerDrive V2 with US2 (Universal Sonar). The 55# was as big as I could go without rewiring my boat for a 24v trolling motor, but it does pretty well for the water I fish.
This year I bought a Humminbird 788ci for the front, a Humminbird 898c SI for the console, the InterLink network module and the WeatherSense barometric pressure module. I'll be installing all of that as soon as I get the boat out of storage in another week or so.
When I was ordering all the new electronics, I had my finger on the button for the i-Pilot for my PD V2... Until I found out I'd have to give up the foot pedal completely to use the i-Pilot. As cool as the i-Pilot is, I'm not sure I want to give up the foot pedal. Maybe next year I'll upgrade to a Terrova and rewire my boat so that I can get an i-Pilot and still use my foot pedal.
My 2003 21' Tundra will be going into it's 7th season up here on Northern Lake Mi. and Lake Superior. Not sure I have room for anything else, loaded with Ram holders, elec. riggers, track system, Bert's Holders, some new vertical triple trees from TraxTech, TR-1 autopilot, 2 big screens jammed on the dash, Sirius Weather reciever so I had to start replacing stuff already there. New 101 I-Pilot, new batteries (5), and just for the heck of it a HDS-5 for the bow. I must have a mile of wire and cable on the boat, and who knows how many holes I've drilled. I am one sick puppy.

Mark,
As much as I'd like a new and bigger boat I'll be keep my 2005 17' Smoker Craft Pro Angler with Mercury 115 Optimax. I'm going to add the MK I-Pilot to my Terrova 80# and if I have enough cash I'd like to get the LSS-1 for my HDS7 that on the bow and mount the LSS-1 on the Terrova with the optional trolling motor bracket. I have a LCX 38c HD at the helm, I'd like to connect the LCX & HDS with ENET cable to share way points.
